Coming in from out of town?

Here are a few lodging opportunities in Los Lunas and the surrounding area.

Days Inn/ Los Lunas. They allow dogs, limited to 2 and only in smoking rooms. You'll need to double-check when you make a reservation if you stay here.

Western Skies Inn & Suites. We are told they will allow dogs, $10 per pet, per night, smoking or non-smoking rooms. Again, check with them.

Hard Rock Casino & Hotel Albuquerque, Isleta Indian Reservation.


Directions to the party at 7 Jay Bird Loop, Los Lunas, NM.

Arriving from the South: I-25 north to Los Lunas exit.
Right on Hwy. 6 (Main Street).
Take Hwy. 6 through town.
First light after crossing the Rio Grande, turn right on Hwy 263.
At the next light, turn right on Hwy. 47 south.
Follow Hwy. 47 south to Otero Rd.
Left on Otero Rd. (Otero Rd. is on the left, right before the highway narrows to 2 lanes from 4, Lutheran Church on the corner of Otero Rd.) to Jay Bird Loop.
Right on Jay Bird Loop to #7.

Arriving from the North: I-25 south to exit 215.
South on Hwy 47.
In Los Lunas at the "Valencia Y" (you will see a Smith's and Walgreens), Hwy. 47 south goes to the left.
Continue to follow Hwy. 47 south, continue on Hwy. 47 south to Otero Rd.
Left on Otero Rd. (Otero Rd. is on the left, right before the highway narrows to 2 lanes from 4, Lutheran Church on the corner of Otero Rd.) to Jay Bird Loop.
Right on Jay Bird Loop to #7.

Please RSVP to info@gpa-nm.org so that we can have a better idea of how much food to purchase and for directions to the picnic. There is no registration fee.

Food - 11:30 - 1:30 (hot dogs & hamburgers)
Silent Auction - Bidding from 11:30 - 2:00. You must be present to win.
Raffle - 11:30 - 3:00. Items will be raffled off during the afternoon with the Grand Raffle Prize, a Hot Air Balloon Ride in Snaggletooth, going as the last prize of the afternoon. You must be present to win.

GPA-NMGC calendars have arrived and will be on sale at the picnic! $15.00 each.

This is a greyhounds-only event, due to the fact that some greyhounds are not small-animal safe.

Greyhounds will be permitted off-lead at the picnic but please muzzle your greyhound for safety. If you would like your greyhound off-lead and do not have a muzzle, we have a limited number of muzzles that can be borrowed. Check in at the NMGC table under the Rally to Rescue tent. If you do not feel comfortable muzzling your hound, please keep him/her on lead.

Naming Rights To A Greyhound.

Time to put your thinking caps on. Here is a picture of the little sweetie whose naming rights were donated by Bob Crossland. She is a March 2011 baby and is an Oswold Cobblepot x Game Spirit breeding. Now, what would you name this little girl? Come to the picnic and bid on the naming rights.



Take a Balloon Ride!

The lucky winner receives admission onto Balloon Fiesta Field and first-hand experience with the inflating, flying, and packing up of a hot air balloon. (Weather permitting.) The lucky bidder will need to contact the pilot prior to Balloon Fiesta to set up a date and time. If the weather is not conducive to flying on your day, we will set up an alternative day and time for a flight, that may or may not take place during Balloon Fiesta.
